Can't wait fo the big reveal of the Big Red. Will it be a VIP invitation only event with finger buffet and pretty young things putting their own blessings on display for the older members among us?
Everyone says that but few succeed. I've surprised myself by keeping my K1600 for 2 1/2 years and only questionned getting rid when Paul cast aspersions about it being ott. With it going out of warranty too, what to do?
Kicked the tyres of all manner of things from Guzzi to Kwackers, even tried a Duke Multistrada and thought it just the thing to kill yourself on. I know the throttle goes both ways but nobody told Mutley. It's bloody encouragable. For same reason I didn't even look in the direction of the S1000 naked. Well I looked, but didn't touch.
But Ming knows me well, and yes, ive lined up another blue n white. Too boring for fun loving young men but im neither so will be getting another boxer (my seventh). After all these years I now what I like. Still OTT some might think, but for me it works. If somebody can do the techie thing it's one of these.
Bit surprised you went for something you've already had, Gaz - I thought you got bored with bikes and changed for a new model on a regular basis? Didn't even know the R100RT was still a current model......and there's no way you'd have a used one
Are you going for the full-on Police Patrol colour scheme and leather strides?
Quite like the look of them if you're in the market for a long distance tourer - bit too barge-like for a racing snake like myself.
Dude - think the funny one-liner must have passed me by........

I was working on you not checking the link, there's a staggering range of bikes from BMW these days and we are actually in the market for one of the C Evolutions on which to run between Newton and Plymouth.
Doubt whether BMW will ever stop making the R1200. Not for the next 10 years anyway.
More your classic BMW, what a beemer should be, boxer engine and classic tourer. Far better fuel consumption and lighter.... a lot lighter than the K1600.
Not sure I would want to trust the electronic suspension version after the K1600 "mind of its own" screen adjustment. Could be quite unnerving the suspension "adjusting" itself at 80 mph.
"Suits you sir", far more sensible for cruising around the continent.
Anyone want to buy a slightly used Harley?

You're right Paul, boxers are part of BM heritage. Make no mistake, though, Rs do more than cruise the continent - they carve through canyons as well as most bikes can and better than most riders.
Fair point about the unreliability of BMW electronics although I don't think there's a safety issue. If I was honest with myself, money would be better spent on top drawer Ohlins shocks, but playing with the gadgets is part of the fun with a mordern beemer. Can always fit those Ohlins in a couple years when the semi active suspension goes haywire, as it surely will.
Btw, the Harley stays. In fact it'll be my wheels for Spain in 8weeks 3 days from now
Sorry to have withheld the change from you Simon, she was unsure of the exchange rate I told her I thought one new zealand dollar is slightly less than 50p. Seems the change she gave me was all yours mate. I owe you £3.50.
